Seattle trumpeter Bob Frazier was hired by Musician Corps for its San Francisco pilot project. In the middle of relocating to the Bay Area, Bob took a moment to update us:
Q. How did you find out about the Musician Corps openings in SF?
A. http://www.artjob.org is an on line job site. I needed to maintain myself as a working musician/artist in Seattle. Not satisfied with the scene. I went back to a larger community, the national stage.
Q. Do you think this will cut into your performance work?
A. You make opportunities to perform according to where you direct or place your musical energy. As a teaching artist one of the things you do is get your students to a high performance level so that you can enjoy interacting.
Q. What’s your impression so far?
A. I am optimistic that a new paradigm is being born.
